WHO I AM

Hi! I'm Zach Lester

Having recently graduated in May of 2025 with a degree in graphic design and marketing minor, I have completed numerous projects under time constraints by working hard and pushing through adversity. This has not only helped me develop advanced knowledge of the principles of design, but has allowed me to further advance my understanding of Adobe Applications.

Being able to collaborate effectively with each other is crucial to our ultimate goal of providing a design you love. The most important thing to me is feedback as I can take it and use it as a tool to help push our minds further, understand your wants and needs, and allowing me to better my work along the way.

Outside of graphic design, I enjoy collecting cards, playing both board and video games, watching sports and hanging out with my friends!

EXPERTISE

A resume of Ohio graphic designer Zach Lester
Design is communicating effectively to an audience that views the work. By using elements like shape, line, color, space, a design should be able to captivate the audience, and achieve the purpose that it was made for. It should resonate and evoke an emotional response from the audience. I’m influenced by minimalistic designs that I see, and how the use of negative space is crucial to a complete design. Less is more. I always try to make an effective design without using other graphical elements on the page, but if there are small details that help fill space, or correlate to the project, then they would get added if needed. Color palettes that mesh well together is something I gravitate towards, and strive to achieve. I like to keep my work clean and not be too overwhelming. I don’t want the viewer to be distracted from multiple elements jumping off the page at once. My process of coming up with a design starts off with a brainstorming phase. I think of ideas, and also look at how others have achieved their own designs and see what works and what doesn’t. After this I go through trial and error and slowly work until I find a design that clicks. My biggest thing is feedback from others as it helps me get opinions and see how others are perceiving the work. It allows me to eliminate unnecessary clutter that is on the page and get insight on ways to make my designs better. I like to step away for a while and come back to the design or look at the design from a distance to help me decide what to do and what not to do. I want my design to be able connect with people and allow them to comprehend what they are looking at, and hold them in the moment. I hope to achieve a level of design that allows my audience to appreciate the designs they interact with.
